Note: It's no secret that my family did not vote (or care for) our incumbent President. His ultra-liberal double-speak and super freak activists concern us for the future. With that being said, we gave our 14 year old a choice: He could stay and watch the President presentation or we could write a note to excuse him. He chose to attend (it was postponed till today at his school). Our youngest simply told us he didn't care to watch, so we wrote him a note.
After seeing and hearing the speech, nothing jumped out at me -- but I dug a bit deeper and found out what was omitted. Much like all his other speeches, they removed text that asked Americans to pledge themselves to him (not the country, or their families or schools -- but to him.). Hmmm. Who else required this in the past ~60-70 years? What are your thoughts? Should a sitting President require audience with our children?
